All Firmware's (Flash files)
What is mobile phone firmware (flash files) and how it works
Firmware ( flash file ) is software that provides basic machine instructions that allow hardware to operate and communicate with other software running on a device. Firmware provides low-level control over a device's hardware.
flashing new firmware simply means upgrading or downgrading to a different version of the operating system on your phone, or changing to an entirely new mobile operating system. Flashing your phone may void your phone's warranty and render your phone unusable depending on the security measures in place on your phone so do it at your own risk. Page end has FAQ
Does it have the potential to brick the device ?
Yes. Flashing malware affected firmware is the easiest way to brick your device. A failed or interrupted flashing can also damage your device. Sometimes things go wrong even if you do everything right. Manually flashing software is not for the faint of heart.
Some devices are easy to "soft brick" but difficult to "hard brick". A soft brick is when the device fails to boot and you need to resort to flashing another firmware, often through a manufacturer tool like Samsung's Odin, to fix it. A hard brick is when it's totally broken; this usually only occurs if you overwrite the device's bootloader or preloader.
Will it void my warranty ?
If you flash a custom ROM, you void your warranty. If you flash a stock ROM over an "unmodified" (ie, never rooted) stock ROM via the manufacturer's approved process, then you should be safe, but flashing stock under other circumstances won't it is different from flashing a custom ROM.
Will I stop getting updates?
For stock ROM No , not in general. You won't get stock updates for a custom ROM, but the custom ROM can have its own updates.
